What this site stores, and what it blocks.

Website analytics: blocked

Our hosting provider injects an analytics script into every page. It is not part of this site’s source code and we cannot remove the tag from the hosting layer, so the site blocks what the script does instead: it cannot write its session-id identifier to a cookie or to browser storage, and it cannot send its page-view event.

We are not offering this as an opt-in. The recipient of that analytics data, how long it is kept and where it is processed are not yet established, so we could not give you the information that valid consent requires. Until that is documented and reviewed, the honest answer is to block it rather than to ask you to accept it.

Strictly necessary storage

These are not optional and are not used to profile you.

• __cf_bm — set by Cloudflare for bot and security management, about 30 minutes. Set at the network layer before our code runs; we cannot switch it off from this site.
• merre_lang — set only when you choose English or Română on this site, so later pages open in that language. It holds only en or ro and lasts one year.
• Scroll position — kept in sessionStorage so the back button returns you to where you were. It ends when you close the tab and never leaves your browser.

Clear non-essential storage

This removes the known non-essential keys listed in this page's maintained storage registry: session-id, analytics_events andsidebar_state. Strictly necessary items and the Cloudflare security cookie are not affected.

Choices in the MERRE app

This page covers the website only. The MERRE mobile app keeps its own separate, purpose-by-purpose choices for product analytics and crash diagnostics. They are off unless you turn them on, and you can change them at any time in the app.
